Ghosts 44

Okay usually I get pretty smartassy about these covers. Poke fun at their ridiculousness, but knowing I couldn’t love them any more if I wanted to. These DC horror comics from the 70′s are a different deal all together. I absolutely adored these comics growing up and their covers were always creepy and spooky but never over the top. Perfect for a Halloween evening read. Hope everyone had a great time tonight.

Love Clinic 04

Wow, she looks like a load of fun. Something tells me Mr. Anthony is gonna have his hands full. Hey… wait a minute. Love Clinic? Shouldn’t that be Dr. Anthony? With that smock and glasses I think he might be trying to pull a fast one.

Vic Flint 01

How the hell do you miss a guy that is big enough to fill a doorway from 5 feet away. Okay, I will give him a slight handicap for having an armful of woman in the other hand. Quite a armful at that. No wonder there is gun play involved. Judging from this cover Vic Flint has also been known by the name Jimmy Highwaters.

Daring Comics 09

Daring… Daring to be one of the most unexplainable covers I have ever seen. This one is right up there with Classic Comic Covers #10. This one also has the distinction of, along with other comics of the time, being jaw-droppingly racist. But even setting that aside for the moment, can anyone follow this one? Are the Submariner and Human Torch rescuing those Japanese officers? Can the Human Torch and Toro melt 3 feet of solid block as fast as they fly? Can you really fit that many sharks into a pool that size?

Little Al of The FBI-10

Kickin’ some commie ass. Not sure if the woman front and center is part of the “Beaver Strikes” story line or not.
